    Rich Saunders

    Managing Director

    I have worked in the property services industry for over 20 years and have developed a thorough understanding of the various markets.

    This focussed understanding of what’s important to people and business is integral to our approach to each and every client. Providing the best solution for their needs and continuing maintenance support.

    Responsibilities:

    Leadership, business strategy, client relationship management, directing the management team and mobilising large projects.

    Loves:

    Fast cars, home building projects and spending time with family and friends practicing my ‘mixologist’ skills!

    Most Likely to be Found:

    In the gym at the crack of dawn, on a track day or in the local Indian Restaurant.

    Dave Bowen

    Sales

    With over 30 years of experience in Construction, Security Installations & Property Services I have specialised in designing & implementing building management solutions that meets the Client’s current & future requirements.

    Recently working with several NHS Trusts, Education Sectors, Social Housing Providers & high profile Blue Chip Organisations to help them identify their needs & deliver the solution, on time & within budget.

    Responsibilities:

    Sales & client relationship management.

    Loves:

    Anything with a battery or big engine, being with my kids, good hotels, food, wine & music. (The latter is hotly debated in my house though)

    Most Likely to be Found:

    Using my 4×4 to its full extent, messing around with IT equipment or researching the Internet. If you can’t find me there then I’ll be in the sun with my family.

    Ian Dunn

    Operations & Accounts

    I joined Matters in 1999, following seven years in the security industry both in retail and trade sales. My first roles were as a locksmith but quickly trained in other security divisions, becoming the senior installations engineer for intruder, CCTV & access control systems.

    Following a period as Installations Manager, I now look after company operations and accounts.

    Responsibilities:

    Operations and accounts.

    Loves:

    Walking our two dogs and spending as much free time as possible with family and friends. Music has also been a big factor in my life, my DJ skills have made me a legend in my own bath time!

    Most Likely to be Found:

    Enjoying a beer in a country pub after a walk, eating out and watching Arsenal at the Emirates.

    Jo Hayday

    Marketing Manager

    I joined the Matters Group in 2011 bringing with me over 10 years of marketing and communication experience since graduating from Brunel University in 1999. I have always had an active interest in Marketing since I can remember and relish in the latest developments.

    I gained valuable experience across various industries including working for Highlife Marketing in the travel industry, Kodak and Skanska.

    Recently I have been managing the Matters Property Services Group re-brand and corporate identity together with focusing on our client relationship processes.

    Responsibilities:

    Overall Marketing & Branding.

    Loves:

    Keeping fit ‘boot-camp’ style and entertaining family & friends. I am very interested in photography and sewing but have yet to master my camera and my sewing machine!

    Most Likely to be Found:

    Spending time with my family or running in the countryside.

    Michael Baines

    Finance Director

    I started working as a consultant and external accountant with Matters Group in 1999 and since then as the company has grown have had more and more involvement.

    Since joining the Matters Group in a more formal role in 2012 when I moved my practice into Matters Group head office in Amersham I have taken on board the responsibility for overall financial management and strategy

    Responsibilities:

    Corporate governance, strategy and financial management Loves: Spreadsheets and accounts that reconcile.

    Most Likely to be Found:

    At the park with any one or all of my five grandchildren.

    Jay Higgins

    Operations Manager

    I started in the industry straight from school working in the electrical contracting industry and joined Matters Group in 2004.

    My role here has grown steadily in line with the company’s growth, moving from the bespoke small scale door entry systems to large scale installations for housing providers – namely multiple tower blocks. In 2010 I moved into a more senior role, now project managing and also looking after company operations.

    Responsibilities:

    Management of contracting works projects, compliance, health & safety, procedures and company operations.

    Loves:

    I have a love hate relationship with the gym, I hate going but can’t be without it. I enjoy visiting different towns and cities in the UK and travelling abroad for long weekends exploring the bars and club scene. Love my cars, using free time to head off somewhere at the drop of a hat.

    Most Likely to be Found:

    In the gym or cleaning my car. You might find me driving coaches in Europe on day trips as a hobby of mine.

    James Summerfield

    Service Manager

    After college I started working here at The Matters Group in 2012 and have been growing my role ever since.

    As part of the service team I’m busy day to day managing our engineers work and coordinating with clients.

    Responsibilities:

    Manage works for numerous social-housing projects and co-ordinate with clients to provide an effective solution to their needs.

    Loves:

    IT and technology, Music, Movies and my family.

    Most Likely to be Found:

    Playing video games, at the cinema or spending time with my family.

    Mat Jones

    Plumbing & Heating Manager

    I progressed to the Matters Group in April 2014, following a career with Southern Electric as Technical Service Manager bringing with me over 15 years of experience in plumbing & heating.

    Responsibilities:

    Management and development of Matters Group plumbing & heating division.

    Loves:

    Golf, motor sport, music & films.

    Most Likely to be Found:

    On a golf course (at the nineteenth hole!) and spending time with my family.

    Pawel Banczyk

    Electrical Qualified Supervisor

    I joined Matters in 2015 as an electrical engineer and became a Qualified Supervisor the following year. I qualified as an electrical engineer when I was 20 and after obtaining my electrical qualifications I have been working in the industry since.

    Responsibilities:

    My main activities at Matters include the day to day operations of our electrical division.

    Loves:

    Spending time with my daughter, heavy music, good food with good wine.

    Most Likely to be Found:

    At a rock concert or more likely in a playground with my daughter.
