Start with your property
Your roof. Your usage. Your next step.
A useful system starts with understanding the building, the electricity you use and what you want to achieve.
Solar & batteries for your home
Planning solar panels, adding a battery or bringing energy systems into a renovation? We consider the roof, available space, electrical installation and your household’s pattern of electricity use.
Tell us about daytime use, heating, electric vehicle charging and any changes you are planning. These details help shape the system around your home.
For offices, workshops, farms and other business premises, start with the building and the working day. Roof space, daytime demand, operating hours and future plans all affect the brief.
We work with owners, facilities teams and project partners to discuss the installation, access and coordination with the wider electrical work.
Solar panels generate electricity from daylight. The useful starting point is how much of that generation your property can use and how the installation fits the roof, supply and future plans.
A battery can store surplus solar generation for later use. Some systems also support charging from the grid. Capacity, controls, tariff and compatibility need to be considered together.
Panels, inverter, battery, protection and controls all have a role. We plan the installation around the property and the equipment selected, including where it will be fitted and how the system will be operated.
Already have solar panels? An additional battery or an upgrade may be possible, but the existing equipment needs to be understood first. Share the make and model, any monitoring information and what you want to improve.

From enquiry to installation
A clearer brief. A practical plan.
Start with what you know. We will explain what information is needed for the next step.
Understand your property
Tell us the location, whether it is a home or business, and whether you want solar, storage or both. Recent electricity usage and a few roof photographs are useful.
Review the options
Consider the available space, existing equipment, electrical supply and the way energy is used. Discuss proposed equipment and the work needed before settling the scope.
Coordinate the work
Plan installation access, the electrical work, equipment positions and any interfaces with a renovation or fit-out. Required approvals and project responsibilities can be addressed as part of the proposal.
Understand your system
Commissioning, operating information and handover help you understand the installation. Ask about monitoring and ongoing support when discussing your project.
Useful questions
Before you enquire.
Can I add a battery to my existing solar panels?
Often there are options, but compatibility and the existing installation need to be checked. Send the inverter and panel details if known, along with what you want the battery to do.
Will a battery keep everything running during a power cut?
Backup operation needs to be specifically designed into the system. If this is important, raise it at the start so the equipment, supported circuits and intended operation can be discussed.
How much will I save?
It depends on the system, generation, electricity usage, tariffs and when energy is used. A proposal should be considered against your own circumstances rather than a single headline savings figure.
Do you work in Gerrards Cross and the Chalfonts?
Yes. We cover Gerrards Cross, Chalfont St Peter, Chalfont St Giles and nearby Buckinghamshire towns, including Beaconsfield and Amersham. Larger projects in London and the wider region are considered by scope.
Can this form part of a renovation or commercial project?
